Click, scroll and move the mouse quickly inside this box
How to use
- Press each button once inside the box and check the count goes up by one
- If one left click raises "Double-clicks" or "Possible chatter", the switch may be worn
- For polling rate, keep moving the mouse quickly in circles inside the box and read "max"
If it does not work
- Polling rate is estimated from how often the browser receives movement. Chrome and Edge measure finely; other browsers may cap it at the display refresh rate (such as 60 Hz)
- Back/forward not responding: check whether your mouse software remaps those buttons
- On some Macs, back/forward buttons never reach the browser
FAQ
What is mouse chatter?
A worn click switch registering one click as two. This page counts it when the same button is pressed again within 80 ms of release, faster than people normally double-click.
What is polling rate?
How many times per second the mouse reports its position, such as 125, 500 or 1000 Hz. Higher is smoother.
