- Mac: System Settings → Privacy & Security → Microphone, turn on your browser
- Clipping: move away from the mic or lower the input volume in the OS
FAQ
Is my recording saved anywhere?
No. It exists only in browser memory and disappears when you close the page.
What is dBFS?
Loudness relative to the digital maximum, which is 0 dB. Closer to 0 is louder; reaching 0 means clipping. Normal speech is around -30 to -10 dB.
Can I hear myself live?
To avoid feedback howl, this page records and plays back instead of live monitoring.
