Compress an Image to Under 20KB

Choose images and the tool finds the best quality that fits under 20KB. 20KB is very small, so photos will also get smaller in pixels. For ID photos, crop first (set a size in cm) for a cleaner result.

Nothing is uploaded. Everything runs on your device.

Size limit (optional)
Finds the best quality under this size (1 KB = 1,024 bytes).

Saved images never contain location, date, camera or other metadata (EXIF, XMP, IPTC).

Results appear here after you choose images.

How to use

  1. Set the output format, size and size limit (this page has them preset).
  2. Choose or drop images. You can process several at once.
  3. Check the results and click Save, or save all as a ZIP. Changing a setting re-runs automatically.

FAQ

Are my images uploaded?

No. Reading, compressing and converting all happen in your browser and never reach our server. After the page loads it even works offline.

What happens to quality under 20 KB?

Quality is lowered first, then the dimensions if needed. Photos under 20 KB lose detail, so crop to the part you need first.

What is DPI when sizing in cm?

Dots per inch (2.54 cm). 3 cm at 300 dpi is 3 ÷ 2.54 × 300 = 354 pixels. 300–350 dpi is typical for print.

My HEIC photo will not open.

HEIC is mainly supported by Safari (iPhone, Mac). Open this page in Safari on your iPhone, or set Settings > Camera > Formats to "Most Compatible" so new photos are saved as JPG.

How do I check the location data is gone?

Load the saved image into this tool again. If it says no location or camera data was found, it is gone.
