Japanese resume (rirekisho) Photo Maker (30×40mm)
Japanese resume forms usually ask for 36–40 × 24–30 mm; 40 × 30 mm is the common size. Only you, chest up. There is no official head size, so we use our own guide (head 24–28 mm). Choose a photo and it is cropped to these rules automatically. Rules can change, so always check the official requirements before you submit.

How to use
- Choose the photo type, then a photo facing the camera with your shoulders in view.
- The AI crops it to the head size and position. Adjust if needed so the crown is in the blue band and the chin in the green band.
- Pick the background and paper, then save the single photo or the print sheet.
- Print the sheet at 100%, borderless, with no auto-correction, and cut along the lines.
FAQ
Are my photos uploaded?
No. Face detection and background processing run with AI inside your browser. The AI runtime is downloaded the first time, but your photo is never sent.
How should I take the photo?
Stand in front of a plain wall in even light without shadows, face the camera and include your shoulders. Hold the phone at face height about 1–1.5 m away and zoom in slightly to avoid distortion. Avoid glare on glasses, hair over the eyes and hats.
How do I print it?
Print the print sheet (4×6 or L size) at a photo kiosk, drugstore or online print service as a 4×6 print, at 100% with no borders and no auto-correction. Check the size with a ruler before cutting.
Is a white background OK?
Some authorities do not accept edited backgrounds. The safest option is to shoot against a plain white or light wall and keep the original background. We never change your face or skin tone.
Can I use it for online applications?
Use the single photo (JPG). It is exported large enough for common limits (for example the UK minimum of 600 × 750 px and the US 600–1200 px square). Always check the form's own limits.
Is compliance guaranteed?
No. The head size is an AI estimate and expression, hair or lighting rules are not checked. Check the official rules before submitting and use a photo studio if unsure.
